Yukon Oklahoma was established in 1891 by A.N. Spencer with about 25 residents. It continues as a growing community of 27,534 (2019) in Canadian County, 14 miles west of Oklahoma City.
Historically, Yukon served as an urban center for local farmers and the location of large grain elevators and milling operations. At the top of one of the iconic mills on historic Route 66, the Yukon’s Best Flour sign continues to shine brightly each night!
Yukon is a robust city with strong Czech roots. This heritage is celebrated each October at the annual Czech Festival. Yukon also is home of the Yukon Millers, Express Clydesdales, a corridor of the famous Chisholm Trail, historic Route 66, and the Chisholm Trail Festival. It’s the former home of Western film legend Dale Robertson, beloved country singer Garth Brooks, and Grady the Cow!
